The City has been advised that the water levels are expected to continue to rise for the next 5 to 7 days on Lake of the Woods, Winnipeg River and Black Sturgeon.

The City of Kenora is upgrading the recommended evacuation notice to an Evacuation Order for residents north of the bypass for all roads north of the Portier bridge. 

Residents who live south of the Portier bridge should be prepare to evacuate as water levels are expected to rise to a point where the East Melick and Essex Road intersection will become unstable.

The City has closed Coker Road at Kelly Road as this road is now unstable. Motorists should not travel on water covered roads and motorists are encouraged to use an alternative route if at all possible to avoid the unstable roads.
