First Avenue South Road Closure

Please be advised that First Avenue South between Third Street South and Fourth Street South is closed to allow City crews to remove the temporary granular surface starting Tuesday, May 24, in preparation for rehabilitation works expected to begin later this week.
The street will remain closed until Pioneer Construction completes the rehabilitation works.
Local traffic will be permitted.

Second Street South Traffic Delays

Please be advised that Titan Contractors (Kenora) Ltd. will be test hole drilling on Second Street South from Fifth Avenue South to Seventh Avenue South on Tuesday, May, 24 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Traffic control will be in place.
Delays can be expected.

Remedial Road Work to Begin North of the Bypass

Our Municipal Emergency Control Group has been actively monitoring the situation and working with experts from the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, and Natural Resources, the Lake of the Woods Control Board, and the Provincial Emergency Operations Centre along with our Roads and Engineering staff.
The Lake of the Woods Control Board indicate that all areas will continue to see exceptionally high flows for the 7-day forecast period. A return to normal flows is unlikely in the coming weeks.

Winnipeg River Boat Launch Temporary Closure

Please be advised that the Winnipeg River Boat Launch in Keewatin is closed temporarily due to flooding.
Both the shore portion of the dock and the launch are underwater, which removes any point of reference while launching causing unsafe conditions.
All of the Lake of the Woods launches remain open at this time.

Today, City of Kenora Council interrupted traffic on Main Street South with a banner cutting to welcome Kenora residents, seasonal residents, neighbouring communities and visitors to the community kicking off the 2022 Glad You Are Here campaign.
The City of Kenora has many initiatives planned throughout the summer including, continued support of the pop-up patio program, new streetscaping elements in the Harbourtown Centre, and promotional giveaways.
